On January 29, 2008 Petra Bárd has successfully defended her doctoral dissertation, and has been awarded the degree of S.J.D. with the grade summa cum laude by the Doctoral Committee of the Central European University, Legal Studies Department, Compararative Constitutional Law Stream. Title of the dissertation is "The Rights of Persons Living with Physical Disabilities: The United States, the European Union and Germany – A Comparative Analysis”.

Prof. Geza Finszter, Head of Criminal Law Division was successfully nominated to the membership of Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
